Dr. Chequita Williams

Dr. Chequita Shantel Williams joined Krewe of Athena in 2015. Dr. Williams is a Jefferson Parish native and alumni of L.W. Higgins High School in Marrero. She is a graduate of Xavier University of LA and received her Doctor of Medicine from LSUHSC School of Medicine in New Orleans. She currently works as a primary care physician on the Northshore. She is the proud mother of Cydney Sinclair and Cameron Shamar.

Dr. Williams was selected in May during the krewe’s annual Fedora Affair and has been working within the organization and community to bring awareness to healthy living.

As Queen Athena III, she implemented the Golden Owl Challenge inspiring the ladies of Athena to exercise and eat healthy. Dr. Williams is actively involved in community service through KOA. She annually supports the Krewe of Athena’s Graces’ Toy Drive b and the Young Ladies of Athena OWL Initiative. In addition, she also performs with the krewe’s walking dance troupe, the Fancy Fedoras.

The 2017 Royal Court is not complete without her King, Graces, Debutants, Princesses, and Pages.
