Camille Antoine Brown epitomizes the essence of an Athena woman. Camille has a remarkable KOA resume' and bears titles that resonate with her dedication and commitment to the Krewe of Athena Carnival Club, Inc. She is Charter Member 1013 and serves as the Lieutenant Supreme of one of the oldest and most distinguished float krewes—Phenomenal Women. Beyond her role as a trailblazing float lieutenant, Camille has a multifaceted presence in the Krewe of Athena. In 2023, she was named as the Inaugural KOA Ambassadress having secured the most sponsorship for the Coronation Ball. Camille also serves on the Queens Council, Community Service Committee, Special Events Committee, and the Fancy Fedora Walking Dance Troupe. One of her highlights within the krewe was being appointed to the position of Queen’s Liaison for Queen Athena IV, Lady Martresaca Jackson Howard. Camille wholeheartedly embodies the krewes Pillars of Sisterhood, Service, Fellowship and Fun and effortlessly displays them throughout her interactions with members.

Camille is a proud native of New Orleans with roots in the Lower Ninth Ward community. She embarked on her educational journey at Holy Redeemer Elementary School, followed by her graduation from Redeemer High School in 1986. Camille continued her education at the University of Kentucky-Hopkinsville, earning her degree in 1994, and later at the Louisiana State University Health Science Center, where she graduated in 2000.

With over 23 years of experience as a registered nurse, Camille has a clinical background in Critical Care Nursing and Community Health Nursing. She has served in the capacity of Director of Nurses, Director of Professional Services and Case Management throughout her nursing career. Currently, Camille is part of the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System, working in the Office of Community Care. Her role is pivotal in coordinating veteran care, focusing on enhancing their access to health services and expanding their healthcare options. Camille is a member of the National and Local Chapters of the Black Nurses Association, Inc. In addition to her nursing career, Camille is a Licensed Realtor with Samantha Bush Real Estate Services LLC and the managing member of Phenomenal Realty LLC. Upon retiring from nursing, she plans to focus her efforts on Real Estate sales & investments.

Camille's platform, "Engage, Encourage, and Empower Sisterhood," encourages women to claim their power, redefine their destinies, and defy expectations. “I believe all women harness the strength to be amazing. We are multitalented with winning instincts,” says Camille. Under the umbrella of her platform, Camille has spearheaded the "Saving our Sisters Health Initiative" in collaboration with community healthcare facilities. This initiative provides free on-site mammogram screenings for women throughout the year, extending beyond October. Additionally, in the spring Camille will host the "Mimosas & Wine Brunch with Queen IX by Design," a scholarship fundraiser dedicated to supporting children who have lost their mothers to breast cancer.

Camille is deeply committed to community service. She serves as the Director/Officer of Nameless Nonprofit, INC., which focuses on promoting education through community awareness efforts. Camille's dedication to helping others is evident in her extensive volunteer work and charitable contributions. She actively supports various organizations, such as the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Lupus Foundation of America, Alzheimer's Association, Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation, National Down Syndrome Society, and National Domestic Violence Foundation.

In her personal life, Camille finds solace in traveling the world, dancing, shopping, spending quality time with family and friends, and serving others. She believes there is always something to do, somewhere to go, and work to be done. Her life motto is, "Do what makes you happy but do not allow your happiness to be based on what's happening."

As Camille prepares to reign as Queen Athena IX, her platform is a tribute to her beloved sister, Yolanda Marie Barrios, who sadly lost her battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer on February 2, 2012. Before her sister's passing, she shared precious advice, saying, "You are always caring for others. It's time for you to embrace life and find joy." Those words continue to inspire Camille to this day, shaping her mission. Camille will forever consider her sister the "ANGEL OVER MY SHOULDER.

Camille is the daughter of Ella Spann Antoine and the late Webster Antoine. She is the proud mother of three beautifully, unique daughters, Farrin Alexis Harrell-Aperwhite, Tyranni Aleah Harrell, and Camryn Alexis Harrell. Camille’s pride and joy are her 2 grandchildren, Logan Riley Aperwhite and Luke Raymond Aperwhite Jr.
